what a joke!
I just started running an ns server, the same box when running a 32 player wolf server uses 6% cpu, ns with 8 players is using 100% and choking.
this is crazy! i can understand ns using more cpu usage, but this is insane!
are there any optimsations i can make? server is a dual xeon.
edit : no, the wolf server is not using smp
also, another bug that is really annoying me, is that when a gorge while evolving new traits, your rp counter goes back to the standard that a player should have (ie, non-gorge), then once you finish evolving your rp counter goes back up 100 limit but you lose the rp you had!

this is true, but winxp will automaticly use half of the second one so get winxp.

No, it won't; it just swaps the process so frequently between the two CPUs that it appears to be using 50% of both. No thread can ever actually run on more than one CPU at once
Pretty much, on a duallie box hlds would run on processor 2 with the entire kernel, system, maints and crons running on cpu 1
