New To Skinning

<div class="IPBDescription">progs</div> Along with this new mod community springing up, i thought i might try my hand at some skinning (i'm a pretty good artist) and perhaps some modelling eventually. The problem there is, I haven't the slightest idea how to go about it. All i really need to know is what programs most of you use, and how expensive they are, i'm sure i can glean the rest from tutorials and experience. any and all help is quite appreciated.

Adobe Photoshop 6.0. Get it any way you can, because it is the ultimate bitmap program and any good skinner uses PS. Paint Shop Pro can only take you so far.
