Some games have this, in the options you can change the sound and voice volumes and press a button to start a play back of anything you say on microphone so you hear yourself like the others would.
I don't think it's a bad idea, because I've been talking to myself for 2 days in game and I didn't even know it (if the game had the option to check how loud or if the microphone even works, this wouldn't happen). I'm not the only one that have been speaking to themselves..
