Does Leap/Blink/jumping work at all?
Of course you can fly. but will leap put you over a floor-placed mine? Will Blink get you past the lasers?

Blink will get you past without setting off the mines. Leap will get you past, but set off laser tripmines; even so, you'll usually survive it anyway since leap moves you out of the blast radius so quickly.

Well, in my experience most Fades (and of course Onoses) will survive a mine detonation. A useful tactic I've found is when the marines set up a network of mines nearby an area they frequent is just to charge into the edge of the detonation laser when there's a bunch of marines about. The mine usually will kill the marine(s) wheras the Fade or your mutated cow will most likely survive the explosion.

And of course you can rocket/bilebomb the mines when a marine comes by.

All in all i'll say that mines are a good alien weapon, and it does not even cost us anything!

I've taken a carapace onos into a marine base before, for the sole purpose of landmine removal.
Took some marines with the mines and still had enough health to get out and soak up some squishies from the DC's.

I concur. I love it when marines just think....

O Hello little mine. AHH! A fade! BOOM!

Yeah i think mines must have killed more marines than aliens. Even with a skulk you can rush past it (don't even Leap it, just run[U]) and not get killed. I think the mine must be a balancing problem : you need to make it more damaging and/or give it a larger blast radius to kill aliens but if you do that... even more marines will get killed.

The shock value is always hilarious though, when the marines only have Light Machine Guns and Mines and a Fade comes charging towards them. Being that mines are chokepoint items and often the most common retreat direction is toward the aforementioned choke point you can literally herd Marines into a mine. This doesn't always work though..

See the problem with mines is similar to the problem with alien turrets. PLACEMENT! The alien turrets are insanely good if placed correctly. You can't just mine a door way. Mine a whole hall it will kill any little skulk that trys and jumps through the door. The mines will chain react and blow up stuff. Also try out having a marine watch the mines, so he can shoot them when needed.
