I hoped it will be fixed with the release of ver 1.0 but unfortunately... it was not:

The Microphone of my webcam is not responding/activated in NS2. In every other application it works (in steam too!).
And yes: the windows sound settings are configured accordingly.

What can I do to help, getting this fixed??? I dont want to buy a microphone if every other application works fine with my cam!

    Have you ensured that the microphone is set as "default" and not "default communication device" ?

    So... after all these days without any answer: Do I really have to buy a new mic/Webcam JUST for NS2??:/

    no_idea, try to disable the Realtek Mic (even if it shows "Not plugged in"). If you're using some dedicated audiocard, then disable Realtek Audio via BIOS.

    Thanks for helping:
    I just tested it: Still not working. In Steam and everywhere else it works fine.

    Try to change Push-to-talk key in Steam and NS2 in-game settings, and they must be the same.

    You should really just try a plain mic instead of one that built into another device. I've already concluded the audio system is far from up to par and has other related mic issues as well. For example, I have a front mic jack that I use for my normal mic and a front speaker jack that I use for the headphones. I also have a rear speaker jack that I sometimes have external speaks hooked to. If I unhook the rear speakers while I'm in game, my mic will stop working and I have to exit NS and come back in to get it working again.

    It happens every time, so now I have to unplug the rear speakers before I launch NS.

    Dont need to because the voice symbol is working correctly as I trigger it (and its the same binding: ALT )

    @NSDigi
    Thank you for your help. I would have to buy a whole Headset which is against the most arguments not cheap (if you don't buy every crap). That + NS2 is the >only< application which does not retrieve the audio-stream, is enough reason for me to keep pushing this topic and try to get a fix for it. I think what you are stating is one more reason why UWE should look into that.

    You have to try it out anyway, or, yeah, you're right, buying new mic is the fastest and easiest solution... Good luck!
