Shades are useful to cloak buildings and make cysts hard to find and kill, but what the hell is up with invisible infestation? It looks silly when you kill a shade and suddenly the entire room changes color and form. It's too much.
Marines running on hidden infestation still show the infestation flying up off your shoes and still make the sound effect. I think it's kind of cool that you can run into a room and from first glance think it's completely unoccupied.

Hides the cysts which is the important part, plus any buildings or players. Any marine with half a brain will notice the splash around his feet.

But what if he just ran past one on the way to another part of the map, taking a quick peak as he sprints past? If he sees infestation, he knows the aliens are doing stuff in there. Another example would be if a alien comm puts up a shade and a few whips on the very edge of infestation to block a doorway and sabotage marines running through. If the infestation wasn't cloaked the marine would know something is up, negating the shade and invs whips completely.
It's not all about how stuff looks, it's more about how it impacts gameplay, and making infestation show up regardless of cloaking is just bad.

Yeah I agree it looks very silly. Needs an animation for the infestation fading into view.

The infestation needs to be cloaked because of the simple fact NoxZA posted about. Peeking into a room and seeing infestation will instantly make it clear there is something there, instead of having to be forced to go in for a closer look or make noise by shooting at it. Skulks like their food *ahem* marines served up close and personal, instead of peeking at their hidden toys from across a hallway :)
Just repeating what's been said above, but the hidden infestation is really a necessity. It also wouldn't make a lot of sense lore-wise for the infestation to be visible.

but i do like everything being invis.
I mean yeah units and buildings but the entire walls and everything? It's silly!

All-in-all, I think it's fine the way it is.
