Ahh, oopse.

That's not photoshop entirely, I made the main part of it in 3dsmax.

Also, here is a better version, the shape behind Hive Mind was a little rough on the edges, so I motion blurred it a bit.

hmph, don't think it took me that long. I didn't really time myself, heh.

Also I didn't do it all at what time, I was doing a bunch of different stuff and I would occasionly just go back to photoshop and add stuff.

So there's no accurate way to measure.

Also, about the talent thing, it just takes practice, I haven't been doing this stuff for any more than 4-5 months. I'm still not even as good as I should be for how long I've been doing it.

A good background, yes. In anyway related to NS, no.

Just because it doesn't have in game models and realistic 3D renders doesn't mean it has nothing to do with NS.

This is just my interpretation of it, but I see the green "blob" as the Alien Hive mind and the 3 little boxes as the hives. (the hives are connected by the hive mind, get it?). Notice there are 3 hives in every map?

Of course I could have interpreted it completely different from the artists, but if the artists says they were inspired by NS, then it probably has something to do with NS!

And you have to agree, it IS a cool picture.

you know what though? Thats not really something to try for, its sorta pretty. But its not really anything worth doing. Something like that would never make you money, So i don't even bother trying to do that, doing a model like that in max doesn't make you leet just means you can create a bad mesh and render it in wireframe with a 3 or 4 pixel thick wire.
