Empty server list after time out

Hello I've been able to play the game just fine for the last few weeks.
But lately I've been having trouble getting in to games. I select a server and it just times me out.
After the time out my entire server list is empty. And the only way to view the server list again is to restart the game.
(which usually results in me timing out on another server and having the same problem all over again.)

Does anyone know what's up with that? =/

Not sure about your timeout issues, but there are web-based alternatives to the server browser: <a href="http://ns2servers.devicenull.org/" target="_blank">ns2servers</a> or the <a href="http://hypernovadesign.co.uk/nanogrid/" target="_blank">NanoGrid</a>.

In the NanoGrid, click the arrow on the right of the server you would like to join to connect to the server directly.

Do you timeout on every single server you try to join? Try connecting to a server outside of your region.

The timeout issue could be due to NS2 and/or Steam "flooding" your router with UDP packets. You could try setting your UDP packet timeout lower if you have access to that option on your router.

Yes, I timed out every single time when trying to join a server in-game.
I used Nanogrid and I managed to join the first game I selected from the list.
Thanks! I will just use that from now on. =]

I doubt that, I have a very simplistic router, but I'll have a look in to that nevertheless.

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated.

    Hello.

I understand your problem very well since I am having this problem since the Beta.

I have a Thomson Modem-Router, and used to have timeout everytime I joined a server. I learned in this forum and others that the problem could be UDP packets flooding the router.

Then, during the beta, I managed to play the game by using the FSFOD Experimental Menu Mod. Don't ask me why, but this mod managed to let me connect to any server without ever having a timeout.

I stop playing the game when they released the Exosuit (don't know which build it was) and at this time I did not have connection problems.

But yesterday I wanted to come back to the game, and connect to a server, and I got a TIMEOUT every time !
I uninstalled the fsfod mods, I uninstalled NS2 and steam. I installed it from scratch, and the problem is still there, event when using the fsfod experimental menumod.

I cannot play this game anymore. My router firmware is proprietary and I cannot access any advanced configurations.

If someone had an idea, I would be gratefull.

    Thank you !
