Anyway i think TF2 is set so you can easily port a multiplayer mod from HL onto it.
Or it will be the sort of game that did what Half-Life did

LOL EGM and CGM have been posting release dates for TFC2 for over a year, they keep pushing it back buddy dont get yer hopes up
EDIT: Damn.
Yes, there is a kind of fog-like effect in NS in a couple places, but its a fake fog. Just a couple sprites strategically placed.
I must say though, they did a darn good job at making fake fog.

I have one word for this.......... "vaporware"
2) Valve have been very quiet about TF2 for the past couple of years. If it were any other company, I'd assume it had been canned. However, Valve are one of the more independent development companies out there, and as such have the luxury of not being dictated to by publishers. They don't have the same sort of external pressures that other companies, dependent on publisher milestones, do. Hence, I suspect TF2 *is* still being worked on, it's just that Valve have learnt their lesson about hyping too early (after the HL hype began but then had to be postponed for a year while the game was redesigned). When TF2 is near release, then we'll hear about it again.
Incidentally, PG Gamer UK recently ran an article about some ATI graphics people who claim to have seen recent builds of the all-new TF2 engine. Apparently TF2 has changed direction somewhat, and is no longer a semi-realistic military shooter (no doubt the success of CS and the market saturation of this type of game forced their hand). Who knows whether there's any truth in this.
3) As far as I'm aware, Valve has *never* publicly stated that HL2 is being worked on at all. Of course, it's fair to assume that it is, but just bear in mind that it has never officially been announced, so you can't really comment on the matter with any degree of credibility.

VALVE *HAVE* confirmed HL2 *IS* in production..they just love to give no goddam info thats all<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Then I'd very much like to see you link me to a press release or credible interview where Valve explicitly acknowledge that they are working on HL2. I'd be very surprised if you can.
I too have seen many oblique references to it, or claims from non-Valve companies that they have knowledge about it, but that's not exactly official, now is it?
Give me a press release, otherwise I remain convinced it has yet to be officially announced. As you quote yourself: "Of course, we all assume that Half-Life 2 is in development". "Assume" being the operative word.

The only TF2 screenshots online are all old. They use the current HL engine. They are obsolete.
No-one outside Valve and their affiliates has seen what the new TF2 looks like - it uses an all-new engine (they hired engine tech peeps from Lithtech to work on it), and no screenshots of it have yet been released on the net.
But that was like a year ago or something.
Sorry to nitpick, but it is NOT TFC 2, it's just TF2, since if it was Team Fortress Classic 2, it would be a remake of TFC, while TF2 is realistic (apparently).

Umm... No.
You probably just took PHL's april fool's joke seriously.
There have been many references recently attributable to Valve team members that TF2 is still alive and being worked on as we speak. However considering it's several years late, we've got a real chance of a "daikatana" situation coming.
HL2 I don't believe has ever been officially announced though considering the success of HL it's got to be considered as a cast iron certainty.
