I would like to suggest that when the sound options are added it should be possible, if not default, to set the playback device to Windows default playback device.
The reason for this is because I have speakers and a USB headset. So if I choose to switch I have to restart the game to get it to switch audio output device, it's quite annoying.
In case you're wondering where I switch playback device.
I do it in windows (win7): Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Manage audio devices
