Switchable Graphics Cards on laptop

First time posting - picked up the beta and for my laptop I noticed this issue. Not aware if this is already known.
My laptop is a Lenovo with an intel graphics card, I can hit a switch to switch the laptop to an nVidia G550M card. When I try this for NS2, the game only recognizes the Intel card as the one performing the rendering. The G550M applet does not detect NS2 launching and does not attempt to process it. I tried other games and they are using the G550M.
Hope this helps!

The program that does the switching is called Optimus and its Nvidia's way of trying to extend laptop battery life by only turning on the power hungry dedicated GPU when needed. Unfourtunately, it doesn't always work for games, which is why you sometimes needs to manually create a profile via the steps in the video.
I haven't messed around with the control panel in so long.
