    Not bad at all, in fact i would like to see a lot more simple maps like this, especially for combat, as long as they're designed well and look good enough we'll get a lot more variety if the community starts pumping these out, remember it's not long until the game is released and we really only have a handful of maps to play on.

    Occlusion Geometry working correctly.
    Performance increase.
    Reworked some textures.
    Deleted a whole lot of excess geometry.
    Lowered walls so marines can jump over them.
    Fixed fades getting stuck in vents

    Known Bugs/Issues. as of 23.07.2012

    Players sinking into the floor and getting stuck if they stop running in corners of 2 areas of the map.
    Gorge can't belly slide in vents.
    Spawning on top of walls.
    Reactor floor grates are bit low for marines animation. (heads passing through grates)
    Mines triggering from other side of the floor grating (More a coding issue but will make note of it here)

    Big thanks to Endar and all the guys helping me stress test this last night and your feedback. 12 players almost got the server full hehehe.

    Ive been stuck in the ground a few times by crouching in places. I've aslo got stuck in the ground/wall 3 times in a row when spawning as a skulk.

    Good work keeping this updated, hopefully combat will be fixed for 215 soon. Though I'm not sure we'll be able to get Monash 3 to switch over with how full they are lately.

    I'm just sitting on my hands at the moment with this map and haven't changed much, mostly cosmetic changes.
    I hope to get another play test soon but with the influx of new players, combat servers are coming up short. I will just have to be patient.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated good or bad. What ever it is let me know and I will do my best to fix it.

    In the mean time i'm going to start another map.

    Would you like to make one for Proving Grounds? We also need small combat like maps :)

    Currently we only have pg_lunacy (and that is a fantastic map to have admittedly, I love it!!!), and could always do with more :)

    If you do decide to map for PG, you will need to download the mod and create a mod in launchpad pointing to a copy of the download files, otherwise you won't be able to add PGGamerules to the map, instead of NS2gamerules :)

    Hi WorthyRival.

    First off this is a beautiful looking map :)

    I was just doing some testing to see if it would be compatible with Proving Grounds, but I came across issues with LOS. 1536units is approx the max size before you get object pop-out, but it seems that there are many lines of sight further than this in your map. Here is the hive room for example...



    This is a problem I am seeing all the time currently in maps. The line of sight needs to be below 1500 units absolute maximum, at all times, to avoid this unnatural scene. Forgive me just shooting and moving back and forth. This issue occurs in the circles you have, and most of the connections between them.

    I appreciate you have taken the time to checkout the map as I'm quite fond of it.

    I am aware of the Line of sight issue. It's happening in offical maps too like docking at trams tech point.

    I learnt much making this map. While not my first map. I still made lots of planning mistakes like the LOS issuses. I've been hoping with engine improvements and optimisation in the coming months issues like this might fix themselves. So for the time being i'm currently I'm working on co_chuteout. I may come back to this map again but it's likely I'll have to just rebuild it from scratch to fix issues like LOS. Unless they make changes to the engine which may yet happen.

    I don't see there being much change to the LOS distance, as they will need all the savings they can muster just to improve performance, not give it away again in expensive extra rendering.

    As I said, I am seeing it in almost every map made at the moment, and it is driving me crazy :)

    I also looked at co-chuteout, the LOS is fine, but unfortunately the map is not suitable for pg :( Neither Exo's nor Aliens can use the ladder...

    You should take another look at co_chuteout as the chute is a secondary route.
    The Primary route is the staircase that wraps around the whole level which was designed with onos and exos in mind.

    Also it would be easy enough to block the chute for PG.

    I did play in the whole map :) It is just there is only 1 route for the Exo and Aliens to go to fight each other, no chance to sneak around the back so to speak. It is always head on into each other :P
