    50fps is fine
    even 30fps is playable
99% of peoples monitors can only display 60fps(60hz) anyway

FPS and HZ are two completely different things. Unless you're running with vsync on (generally a bad idea), you can happily enjoy 100fps on a 60hz monitor.

You can play an singleplayer-game like dead space with 30 fps but you cannot play an multiplayer smooth with 30.
Maybe i make an video thats shows you how "smooth" 30 fps are in ns2 compared to 60.

Playing with 30fps is horrible, the whole hitreg discussion is based on it.
We analyze the hitreg a while ago frame by frame an came to the end: It works over 90% of the time. Sure shotgun has some issues, but its better in 210.

Most of the time i cannot aim in closefight cause horrible fps-drops to 30-40.
Playble doesnt mean enjoyable. Sure you can run around shoot stuff, but next time you miss an target:hold on for an while and dont cry "the hitreg is ######", cause its not true.

Fact is: you dont hit the target then.

That's so unfortunate, me and my sub 15fps feels for you.

If you ran around with fluid 60fps, come to an room where suddenly the fps drops to 30 and beeing attacked in that moment is a great moment in ns2.
Game feel so unrespondible then. No SSD, 4,8ghz and an monster gpu help there.

Did someone notice the stuterin if you watch an bluray 24p movie on an 60hz monitor? maybe some people are more sensitive than others.
And a 3€ sparkling wine taste the same like an 150€ champagner. hmm

Hz and FPS are effectively the same thing
a 60hz monitor can not physically display more than 60fps its just not possible

60hz means the monitor refreshes the whole image 60 times per second.
If you have less than 60fps it will display frames more than once
If you have more than 60fps it can help since monitors display parts of frames at times so
you can use vsycn to get rid of tearing(can add input lag)

I guess it must be. Good thing it doesn't matter whether or not other people believe it or not for it to be true. Good day.

How hard is it? You know everything fade that needs to be loaded, then load it, everything skulk; texture, sound, animation, model, load it. Everything marine, load it. Everything map, load it. Why only load like 90% of the game assets??? Why not load EVERYTHING???

you don't understand the higher level of complexity.
the screen updates 60 times per second at fixed times, 1/60s inbetween.
frames, as they are produced, have to be picked for the correct update.
if you have an abundance of frames, chances are higher for a frame to come closer to an update.
it's not a big difference, but it gets a little bit smoother and more responsive (at a very high cost).

I've heard Brian mention that this is actually a bug they will look into eventually.

Are you talking about CRTs or LCDs?
    They dont work the same
What I am saying is the monitor can only display a max of 60 unique frames per second
LCDs will display part of 2 frames(or more) at the same time but will have a constant image and max of 60fps displayed
Running high than 60fps on a LCD will induce more screen tearing

CRTs I think work how you are saying
