ctrl + A to select all, then z to center around selection. if your map is big enough to zoom out past the draw distance, you're just gonna have to mouse wheel up to zoom in until u see something. then select one thing and hit z again.
Press alt+w to show up the top, front and side views. In one of these views just select an element, then hover your perspective view and press z to zoom to this element... This should work
