Just bringing this up, was a lerk in summit and pressed space a couple of times then held it, and you just kind of float around without falling or rising or anything. You don't stop moving either kind of just float around lol

That's one of the classic lerk mechanics, called 'gliding'

The point is you can't gain speed but you don't make noise either. Make sure to use it when you want to be a bit stealthy!

Although aren't you supposed to float down to the ground if your horizontal speed is low enough?

Yes, in a physically "correct" model the lift from the wings is proportional to the velocity in the "wing plane". The lift is in the wing normal, so looking down should make you gain horizontal speed. I tried to do a mod using these principle long time ago, it was funny, the main problem being that it's not really suited to the spikes.

In combination with CTRL you can do impressive fullspeed dives.
Also if you hild space and nothing else, the lerk glides, you can look 360degrees around and up/down, you gain speed and if you bump in a wall you will just glide along the wall.

There are lots of more things the lerk can do, but find it out yourself ^^. Hint 1 thing has to do with doors.

Yeah, holding down Space + Forward lets you glide through a whole map without having to flap your wings if you want to. As long as you keep your view at a slight angle downwards you'll keep gaining speed. Releasing the forward key even lets you turn in mid-air and keep flying one direction while firing in the opposite one.

It takes a while to get used to the lerk controls but it's a ton of fun when you do.
