Screen freezes... Game keeps on going?

So... I didn't play the beta for a looong time but thought I would try it with the patch.
It worked perfectly the first couple of days. The game ran smoothly unless the match had been going on for a while and the whole map was filled with structures. No news there ;)
But since yesterday the screen have begun to freeze within the first 5-10sec after I choose a team. It's like the player model moves an inch infront of the camera a microsecond before it freezes.
I can still hear the sound going in the background (Like the gun fires when I press the mouse button)... And I can still access the console and menu. I don't get any connection errors in the corner though.
I've verified game cache and defragmented cache files. I didn't change or install anything new on my pc before this problem came up.
So anyone got a guess what could be wrong and how I can fix it?
