NS2 disconnecting my internet

<div class="IPBDescription">Yes, I'm serious</div>Every time I join a server I can play for about 30 seconds before the game start lagging extremely hard and then my modem restarts. This just started within the last couple days..

I have my router set to DMZ to my computer, which works for every other program I need to open ports for.

Any ideas?

    You may have a crappy router that can't handle the amount of connections the game is making. It shouldn't be an issue if you can play other games, but it could be a bug or bad networking design in the game. DoW2 has a similar problem where it makes a stupid amount of connections and dumps lower end routers.

    Very strange... You might need to lower some settings if you are pushing the modem to the max?
    Like db settings etc.

    EDIT: have you updated the firmware on your modem?

    Haven't tried updating the firmware on my modem. Not sure if I can. I believe that the modem forces the firmware to stay at whatever Comcast wants, so I'm stuck using whatever firmware Comcast puts on it.

    Shouldn't be a problem in the first place though. Have never had this problem with any other game.

    Interesting. I experienced this very same effect earlier today while trying to play a game. I also have Comcast. I was able to browse to a serverlist and hit join and bam, internet connection lost.

    Had to unplug it from ethernet cable and power cord and hold reset down on the router. Worked fine and I played three games straight.
