Hi Guys,
First of all, thanks for all the great work you have been doing on the game, tools and updates. I have just seriously started getting to work with the spark editor, and I am loving it! :)
Having started out mapping because of NS, it looks like the spark editor has finally given me the tools to create something worthwhile. I am a long way off, but I am having so much fun I thought I should share.
I do have one quite important question weighing on my mind about the future prospects of the game. I have used the search function, and understand you are focusing on DX9, (which is great as I am still on XP myself) but I worry with the development time frame of the game, Windows 8 likely in 2012/2013, and the end of life for XP in 2014, do you think the game might be outdated (as beautiful as it is) by release time?
Also, with AMD's Bulldozer chips, and the new SB-E additions from Intel, essentially being monster multi-threaded workhorses, will performance really suffer come release date on the single threaded DX9?
I love NS2 and want nothing more than for this to succeed. I was just wondering if you felt these were valuable concerns, or is it just my lack of knowledge on the game and development plan that causes this worry? :)
Thanks again guys for continuing wonderful experiences :)
Andy
