ugh, only portable power nodes? no thanks.

Hardly want the entire map to be blacked out by default (or the even worse decoupling of those lighting effects from the power node system) or marines to be hiding their power node in strange places.

its not really fair that aliens have to claim territory by infesting, but marines actually already claimed the whole map at game start (all power nodes are turned on).
well, if we going to have portable power nodes, then its anyway up to the mapper.

im just guessing here</b>, i dont really know what you are planning to do, but if im right it would make sense that both sides need some basic structure to expand.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I believe the original purpose of having power nodes is to force the marines out of a turtle strategy. Think of it like expansions in SC2, that's the idea behind it. You need to expand or you will ultimately lose. The latter wasn't necessarily true in NS1.

The real territories of NS have switched from resource nozzles to power nodes. I can't wait to see how it plays out with the DI functioning.
