Capcom are saying it's only currently being made for japan. They also say that enough interest is shown, however, they might consider bringing it out in other territories.

Sounds like a marketting ploy to me as I know Layton does pretty well outside of japan so there's little reason for them to not do it worldwide.

We still haven't even got the 3rd layton game, it's coming out next month. My GF is hooked on these games, and will definitely upgrade to a 3DS if it is necessary to get a fix of Prof Layton.

This really is an evil plot to force the adaption rate of the 3DS.

Personally, I never liked the Phoenix Wright games, however most of my friends do, and we all like the Layton games.

I actually always wanted to like the games, but some of the mechanics from the first game put me off them (iirc, it was one of the cases that required you to go in a loop one or two times before you could present the blindingly obvious evidence and have it accepted)
