    Yes, if you open steam, Games>Activate a product on Steam and follow the dialogs (you will need your NS2 key). This will tie your copy of NS2 to your steam account. This will let you use steam to download and install the latest steam release of NS2 (currently the engine test) but at some point today this will change to the NS2 alpha.

    Well, there exists a place on my hard drive where NS2 will eventually be downloaded to. Thus depending on the current configuration of the bits in that region of my HDD, there is a 50/N % chance that the first N bits match those of NS2...and thus there is a 50/N % chance that I'm already winning the NS2 DL race by N bits :D

    Hm. 1.5Mb is the fastest I can go at all. for the moment, until we get vdsl unlocked around here (currently on adsl2 i think).
