we have not even seen a really clear picture of the regular green marine ingame, and no one has asked for that yet, still peoples going to buy it, because it will be geeeewd... i pitty your lack of faith and imagination :D

More black armor pr0n. The woman, the one on the left, is sporting ns2 gorge-skin armor... which as we all know... gorge skin is the most advanced self-healing armor in the universe!

Who really cares? I didn't buy the Special Edition because of the black armor. I bought it because I really like to see NS2 even before the fat lady is born.

I actually kinda like the black armor better with the blue light, makes the overall marine colour scheme more cohesive. Just my opinion.

I'm somewhere in between on this. It looks great either way, but I like how the red light differentiates the black armor marines from the green. Makes them seem (like everyone keeps saying) more like a spec-ops team than just the normal grunts.

For cohesiveness, you are definitely right. The red side of the palette is owned by aliens, not marines.

I was under the impression that they were making NS2 as OS independent as they could so they could target each major OS? I mean, Lua can be compiled on all the major operating systems without much change AFAIK, so why stop at just the scripting language?

As for the original question, I haven't heard of very many games that released Special Edition, even Pre-Order content as seperate purchases/downloads. AFAIK, the special edition codes that come with RA3 can only be received through a SE RA3 purchase. The Mirror's Edge bag was only available through the pre-order. Pre-orders are to get an advancement of money, like a bank loaning money to someone with the expectation that we'll receive a larger some of money. In this case however, the interest that we get back is the Black Armor, Alpha+Beta access, as well as early acess to the development tools. The Alpha+Beta and early access to the dev. tools however have a limited amount of use. Once the game is released, there isn't anything special about our purchase except for the fact that we payed more than other people and that we get Black Armor. If the black armor can be purchased after the game is released than what exactly was in it for us to pre-order?

I'm sure you'll be able to purchase extra content after the game is released, I strongly hope however that it isn't the Black Armor.

Not gonna lie, all those colors still look awful on the black armour :P My vote still goes for the stock blue. Mabe they can differentiate it by changing something a little more subtle than the light color. Perhaps some sort of spec-ops arm insignia or a comm antenna on the side of this helmet or something.
