I had almost finished FoA when my mum pulled the power cord out of the computer to make me go to school. I hadn't saved in about three hours. Sooooo much rage.
Ah the charm and flaw of Adventure Games. Sometimes you have to try and dissect the crazy ideas of the game developer and figure out what crazy koolaid they were on when they built it.
I recommend Republic Commando. It's got a solid Single-player, even if it is a little short. I recall The Dig being awesome back in the day, but again it's a puzzle/adventure thingy. Granted, less quirky than say Full Throttle or Monkey Island.
You're on a track movement, but you can still choose where you shoot and all that stuff, had actors.
If it has that old school of games on it. :D<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
God I remember this game too but no one else seems to. Yes yes there was Dark Forces and all that, but this was a screen-by-screen shooter in the same kind of idea as all those arcade shooters you see at... uhm, arcades. You're on this adventure of course and you need to blast your way through room after room of imperial stormtroopers in exotic locations while doing exotic things, including flying the millennium falcon through the inside of some kind of mining asteroid. In fact if I recall there were a couple of 'flying mode' parts to the game, including a speeder bike sequence in a swamp? Yeah that game was epic.
I think it was called that. Played them all, only two as far as I know.
Dark Forces was cool too, I loved that gun that had an AOE affect with some blue wave on it.
That ship in Dark Forces that your guy had too was pretty pimpin as well.
Tie Fighter was my most favorite though, omg I got soo into that game and the story it came with.
Found it! <a href="http://www.giantbomb.com/star-wars-rebel-assault/61-12058/" target="_blank">http://www.giantbomb.com/star-wars-rebel-assault/61-12058/</a>
At least a part of it.
Part 1: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Rebel_Assault" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Rebel_Assault</a>
Part 2: (Rookie 1, is that you? lol) <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Rebel_Assault_II:_The_Hidden_Empire" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Re...e_Hidden_Empire</a>
I've been playing Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis on my DS for a few days now using <a href="http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com/" target="_blank">scummVMDS</a> Almost at the end :D Going to try monkey island and the other indy game as well!

Picked up Tales of Monkey Island and thoroughly enjoyed the first episode... after I turned off the hints entirely. Was annoying as hell to be thinking, then get a clue just as I was about to come to the same conclusion.
I'm NOT going to be buying the Special Edition of the original though. They've ######ized it to look closer to the current games, instead of just cleaning up the old style.. not to mention getting rid of the one or two 'realistic' images (the governor, end of the game splashscreen) in favor of cartoony, stylized wannabe-anime. Annoyed me enough to just pull out my original CD and pop it in for a few hours of un-spoiled gameplay. Newsflash, GUYBRUSH DOES NOT HAVE A SHAVED-SIDES MULLET! Call me a purist, but changing an older game to fit better with the new money-cow look always struck me as wrong.
Also still have my original copy of Fate of Atlantis, but still haven't bothered beating it; the original was glitchy as hell, and very slow to play. Much preferred Maniac Mansion, or best yet, Day of the Tentacle. Or Sam & Max Hit The Road. The new ones are fun, but the classic just has a lot more going for it. If nothing else, 'Abuse -> Hypercephalic Kitten'. Though I won't miss the whack-a-rat game.
Rebel Assault was fun, especially with a good joystick.

Armed and dangerous as being given away free not too long ago and I find it a shame that the game I mentioned has none of the press it deserves and felt it needed a mention this is off topic forum I went off topic.

You really shouldn't hate on what is at least the second best game in the series. Though I think Elaine changed a bit, at least hairstyle wise, since then.

The multiplayer used to be awesome too but i'm not sure if its still got servers etc. defiantly worth a go though even if its just for the humor in it.

Because they are awesome classics.

The puzzles have lost their charm :(
Either that or I'm just out of practice and I suck at adventure games. It's probably that, tbh.
I WANT MONKEY ISLAND: THE SECRET OF MONKEY ISLAND SPECIAL EDITION. HURRY UP.

I have too but I've never gotten around to it. I should try to find a weekend to squeeze it in soon.
