alien class: damage absorber

Name: Armurra (whatever, names not important)
cost: 35 res
HP:100
Armor:200

function: heavily, heavily armored damage absorber that shields aliens behind it and develops protective wings for greater shielding potential @ second hive. naturally, this unit will take 1/5th of the damage normal units take due to its highly resistive exoskeletal system but will suffer heavily in terms of speed (slow movement)

passive ability is "dermal bubbles" (available at first hive): dermal bubbles form beneath the skin filled with the same substance of umbra. they explode when hit by bullets (creating an umbra effect)

passive flaw: exposed nervous tissue at its neck, doing 5x damage if hit (can only be damaged from the rear of the creature)

passive damage resistance: damage/3,4, or 5 (depending on hive) (when hit from front)

passive damage susceptability: damage * 5 when nervous tissue is damage from rear

level 1 ability is "tongue whip" grabbing a hold of target, rendering them immobile and unable to fire their weapons after 10 seconds (due to paralytic enzyme release + parasite), all the while acid does 5 damage per second to the marine. the marine is only cut loose when the critter dies. it the ability is used again while a marine is strangled, the marine is set free. other abilities can be used while this is in play. (the marine might actually become susceptible to friendly fire once strangled by the armurra (and maybe even decrease damage taken by a factor)

level 2 ability is "armor fan" causing objects surface area to increase (like wings expanding) to allow aliens behind it to be shielded from damage as they approach marines

level 3 ability is "mend armor" causing the creature to heal damaged exoskeletal cartilage and bone at the expense of its energy reserve. (self heal)

    hmm, which life-form already plays similar role? maybe onos? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
    giving aliens such a tactical advantage for only 35 res would be completely unbalanced.
    imagine one of this creature and 1 skulk, they could kill every marine (one by one) without risks.

    ya dude that is way to OP (over powered) you got to tone it down a bit of a lot i mean for 35 res there is not even enough for a fade and the fact that you start out with 25 res.... well they have to wait a bit and oh no the tank is comming and besides the point if its a monster like that with weapon 0 and armor 0 marines it will be extremly hard to take down and the reason why i say lvl 0 weapon and armor is because of the fact that it dosnt take long for aliens to get 35 res! all in all it can be a good idea with some changes but as for the early starting tank thing it is to unbalanced
