<div class="IPBDescription">Bordey, bordey, bored, bored...</div>I first have to say I'm a HUGE fan of NS and have been from the start, however, I am becoming increasingly frustrated and <i>BORED</i> with the wait for NS2. I'm not saying the guys shouldn't be taking the time to get it right instead of gossiping on the forums with us! I'm saying that there should be <i>something</i> to fill the gap while we wait for NS2 to arrive.
I think the video blogs and podcasts are great stuff, it's great that the developers are taking the time to do that for us and involve the comunity in the design process, but after the 5th or 6th week of seeing the same one on the front page of the site I'm starting to lose interest. I can understand the developers don't want to show their hand until they're happy the engine is ready, so I'm not pushing for that. I'm just asking for <i>something </i>to keep the excitement going, <i>something </i>to fill the gap!
So how about this for an idea that'll save the developers some time while keeping the site fresh. We start a thread for submissions to be included on the front page, these can include artwork, stories, designs, ideas that best encompass where the developers see NS2 going. Then every week they pick the best of the submissions and put it on the front page. It would make the NS community feel more involved and keep the site fresh.
Just my 2p worth.

Keep in mind that do you want them to show you lots of stuff in the news or small talk?
I mean when they were posting the podcasts, it was about once a week give or take. Now they have started to have more videocasts with boards to show stuff on, it will take more time to build and set everything ready. The thing is that they have to work on the game as well.
So do you rather have a podcast with small talk once a week (3 - 7min), or do you rather want the news to include lots of stuff (videocasts)?
It's up to you.
Thanks.

It doesn't really matter to me as long as the game I buy is fun.

Keep those heads down as long as it takes. Make it great!

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to the week after next.
Smartest remark on the NS2 General Board.

Thanks for the update, I'm looking forward to hearing about what the deadline was! Hopefully you can leak us some more info to whet our appetites some more!
Keep up the good work guys!
Thanks.

Nice, I'll be waiting
Indeed. But there's a simple solution. Don't <i>wait</i>. (This means don't check back <i>every 10 minutes</i>). **

Play some sports. Read some books. Learn to cook. Learn.. just learn. Play more NS. Play <i>any other game</i> - God knows there's heaps of them. Go for small indie games, there's a ridiculous number of those, they're often pretty fun, and they often come free. Hmm, what else...? Oh right, as a final suggestion you could go on these forums and express dissatisfaction with the lack of news, media and most importantly, lack of NS2...

**Granted, however, there is a problem when you check back <i>once every 2 months</i> and there isn't anything new. For that fact, I will agree with your conclusion:

But I'm broke and I have nothing to add.
I like the way everyone disregarded the "I think" and all they read was "UPDATE NEXT WEEK GUYS 100% HAVE FUN"
Well it's not next week, They FINISH a sprint next Friday(Oct 3rd) so realistically the update would come the following week some time. That's pretty much what Cory said, so that's what we will expect. It's not like people will show up with a lynch mob if they don't update us, but if you say, according to your schedule, there should be an update soon after next Friday, that's what we're going to be looking for.
anyway why don't you go outside and live for a while <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> cause i know i won't be doing any of that once ns2 comes out <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
