I realized the other day that this is a really good idea if you have the space. Since it takes time to delete each file. The more versions you have, the harder it is to knock you down too far.

I've been thinking that once I get the space. I'm going to have every version of FWL, WWL, CRC, and AV randomly distributed through as many folders as I can create on my hard drive. I had been thinking along those lines for a few things:

1) Fill up your HDD, they can't install Viruses on it then <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
2) Fill up your log file with vast sums of random stuff, so the next person that just does Ctrl+A -> Del gets hit with a multi min clear <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

1) This won't work unless you don't have viruses to install to other people... (Because they then could just unhide and install... or they could just delete something and then install...)
2) Smart people only clear the lines that have their IP... and if they make a mistake like you are suggesting, they kill the process and clear less.

I have a 4.7 seeker so it's not like anything is on that I can't see. My bank account has never been touched. I'm making over 2k per hour in spam (and one warez sharer)

If you manage to not accidentally go onto NPC servers I think it's pretty easy to keep the IP hidden. I think when my IP was discovered it was because some of the IPs I harvested were NPCs and not players... which is why I now have that handy excel spreadsheet to ensure all the IPs I use are players. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Speaking of which. It looks like it might be fairly easy to lift all the logs you see automagically (no user input required) with a fairly simple firefox addon.

I still have to learn enough javascript to get at the data (totally doable). And then find a way to pipe it out to an external parser (worst case you have to run a webserver on your own machine that javascript can send an ubercomplex URL to or form post/get data).

After some initial headaches getting the right hooks into firefox. I now have a little extension that recognizes that you're looking at slavehack and has individual page parsers for each interface (software/hardware/internet/slaves....). And it looks like firefox extensions will let you launch an external program directly so piping in and out of the script to a language I really know should be totally doable.

I'd like some feature ideas.

So far what I've been thinking of it handling is this
-Automatically sifting through every log you see for ip's and bank accounts. No need to highlight any text or copy/paste
-Keeping a database of seen ip's, with "last seen" used as a measure of validity.
-Replacing your ip with a something else any time you hit "Edit Log" and your ip is still in there. Possibly a toggleable automatic line clear any time a log is seen with your ip if you're super paranoid.

-Automatically inserting the proper password from your slaves page any time you try to log into a machine you've already cracked.

-Prepping an account # and bank ip to transfer all money to whenever the transfer page is seen. This combined with the password replacer above could make for a very stealthy heist.

-Possibly monitoring your hard drive size to see when it changes behind your back (hacked). That one sounds a bit hard though.

-Automatic log camping? Dunno, that sounds plain evil.

You might want to put on hold on this feature. While the others are passive (even the bank one seems a bit leery), this one will definitely trip their ban on bots.

Just stick with the manual f5 approach for this.

My HDD got wiped, so I am going to lay low for a while (Im days off a IP reset or I can pay 2.2 million dollars <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />) When I do come back though, I just want to stick a decent firewall on my PC to keep most people off. Sadly my HDD is only 5 gigs right now so I don't want anything too big.

Ok I hid the level 4 firewall that was keeping everyone out. I'm not going to unhide the 1.1 one because there's too much log camping below that level, so it would be a security risk to have people logging in.

That's true. I haven't been playing for days really other than logging on, going on the GS, and collecting income.
