what I saw on the forums states that it only leaves a log on your side.

    HOWEVER!

if you log in to your account? That leaves your info with the bank.

never log into your account if you can't crack the bank.

(note, got those answers from the forums)

So, this game is pissing me off. I keep on getting annoyed, yet I keep on coming back for more

side note, found some 4.7/5.0 software if any one can make use of it the guy has no firewall to speak of: 196.58.7.21

I know the feeling. I haven't been playing much lately but that is exactly how it was when I started playing this game.

yah, I have decided tat my new strategy consists of gathering IPs and bank accounts,l and then cracking them and dealing with them at a different time period.

Speaking of bank accounts. I have a number of them if any one wants them, it takes me to damn long to crack them atm so I am not bothering.

I can crack any bank account in 1 minute. If you're interested...
PM me any bank numbers (with bank ip) and I'll PM you a list of passwords.

My only request: If you get a massive amount of money (over 100,000) from accounts I crack for you, lets buy a group server.

sounds good, pm on the way.

I am also totally down with the GS as having a place where we can store some level 5 software would be very nice, however, these are all off of the first bank.

    lol

Never again will I try and hack the stupid First Ypesteiner bank.

Got into a few accounts, cleared them out (only a few hundred), but was not able to erase my tracks fast enough to deal with the 500 people constantly refreshing the damn logs <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Cleaned out what I found by buying a new connection.
    Reset my IP/PW
    and then watched as the last couple $ from my account disappeared <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I am going to try try it again tomorrow when I have an IP reset all ready.

Clean out as many accounts as I can in as short a time as possible, spend all the $$, reset my IP/PW and then close out the account <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

unfortunately the main problem came from switching between being logged into the back end and being logged into an account. I constantly lost track of what the game thought I was logged into and would end up facing the wrong damn screen when I was trying to clear the logs. That and not being able to get instant clears to work quite right.

    Losing is fun!

Best idea is to ask me for a dummy account in another bank, and then do as you just said but transfer all of the money to this dummy account and then transfer it from there back into your account.

That way people at first bank don't find out your base account. Unfortunately the dummy account is in a higher security bank so it is harder to cover your tracks there, but if you can do it that's the best way. That, and/or just transfer the money from one account into the next one you're going to steal until the last one when you do as I say. Less chance of people following the trail.

IP reset I think is essential for bank heists though.

I know my brother was camping the bank logs, it would be sort of ironic if he cleared you out after I cracked those accounts for you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

lol, as I said, it wasn't a big clear out (I spent most of the cash and left the rest as a reward for whomever got it first).

What I gotta admit is kinda cool is that some one has taken over the newbie bank by uploading a higher level .fwl too it (I have a 1.0 .wwl and it can't bypass).

    lets them go around in it with a bit of impunity <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I think I am gonna try your idea of forwarding them on the next time, and the last one will forward to my newbie account, then then from there to my new account on a different bank (the 3rd one)

btw, how much more do you need for a GS?

I would love to have some place to back up my crap too <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

You got it a bit wrong. There's no point transferring it to another account in the same bank because a smart person will keep watching to see if you then transfer it out.

    Order should be...

    1st -> 3rd -> 1st

(So they are likely to lose the trail when you transfer it out of the account at the other bank)

I can't get into the 4.7/5.0 server because my waterwall is only 0.9.

If anyone has firewall > 0.9, I'd appreciate a buff in that department. Like everyone else, I don't like checking my system to find that one of my virii have been installed on my own machine.

106.0.175.188 is me for the moment.

Obviously I want it all. But really I want to focus on beefing up my security. Which more or less means a better firewall.

I'm willing to figure the rest out. But having someone muck around on my system makes me go <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Also. I'm 100% in favor of a group server. Only got 2k at the moment but if we can get a head count and figure out shares then I'll start setting some aside.

Well, to get a good firewall you need a good waterwall. You can't go on a server unless your waterwall exceeds or is at the same level of the server's firewall.

So if you want to go download a 4.0 Firewall, you need a 4.0+ waterwall... and to fit such high level stuff you need an upgraded HD too.

Read the Manuals on the forums. They give some good tips... Especially the "instant clear" thing... It's basically an exploit of a bug. The bug being, activities do not go through until you press "continue" on the processes page (or you get autoredirected after a timer finishes)... So you can make it so that anything that would go in a log is immediately cleared by queueing both actions up, waiting for them to both finish (you must do this without looking at their timers), and then pressing continue on both of them on the processes page (in the desired order)...

Other then that... When you're getting started be reckless. Get your way onto the bank and steal money. Do whatever you can...
    Save every IP you find.

After all this, reset your IP, backup to external if you can, reformat, and then stay off public servers as much as you can and just slave your massive IP list.

    That last part is what I'm doing now. I have around 50 IPs I need to slave. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Final post for now... I've got 25,000 right now... So I'll be able to buy a group server in not too long. I don't know if people want to contribute somehow or maybe just plan to contribute to upgrading the group server after I buy it (and keeping the IP of it as safe as can be.)

Heh... That's why I was trying to figure out what waterwall you wanted... I have a 4.5 and a 5.0 waterwall and while neither of those would likely fit on yours, I would gladly go get any other waterwall to upload for you.

If you don't know what you want, how big is your HD?
  • ThansalThansal The New Scum Join Date: 2002-08-22 Member: 1215Members, Constellation
yah, the server I was talking about (it is in a previous post) got .fwled up a bit ago.

As psyke pointed out, you can't reliably jump in software level due to needing a MUCH larger HDD (and better network connection). Seriously, the 4.+ stuff racks up around being 5 gigs each. My major problem is that I don't have the external to take care of the software I now have (1.0 wwl and crc), so if some one manages to get in and decides to mess with me I am buggered.

My other problem is that slavehack.com has been completely unreliable since last night....

So a quick note on making money:
I have found (like psyke said) that just slaving up as many computers as you can (stay off of NPCs) is the best bet. My method now is to keep a file online for my self with a list of IPs I have gathered, and sort them into people that are currently active (look at time stamps in their log when you are removing your presence), and people that are not playing atm.

Once you have a decent list of people that are not playing just start going in and uploading the .3 .vspam and installing it on them. while you are at it, go through their logs and find all of their slaves and/or bank accounts, and just add them to your list of things to work on.

    how spam works:
You get a set amount of money that is related to your slave's CPU speed (faster == more cash), the version of the vspam doesn't change this number. HOWEVER, if there are more then one vspam on a machine, the $$ is spread out amongst the vspams, with a higher percent going to those with a higher level .vspam.

vshares work much the same way, except the $ is based on the slave's connection speed.

Man, I thought it was my (real <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />) internet connection that was bugging, but apparently it's just slavehack.com. Maybe someone has hacked it and installed it full of spam virii :o . It works so slow, that I dare not try to hack any computers, since with my luck I would get disconnected right after I've left my IP in the server logs <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />

I make about 100 € / hour now. I'm wondering if I should save money and upgrade two or more levels (for example, I could upgrade my CPU two "levels") or just buy a bit better cpu and harddrive.

I will say that the small upgrades to the external HDD are rather pointless as most programs grow exponentially in size early on.

I really want to log on and just dump all of my slaves as I am losing them as the day progresses....

    random note about slaves:
Don't delete everything the guy has on his HDD (aside from virus scanners if they are powerful enough to remove your virus) as at that point they can just formate their HDD with no worries.
  • remiremi remedy [blu.knight] Join Date: 2003-11-18 Member: 23112Members, Super Administrators, Forum Admins, NS2 Developer, NS2 Playtester
I don't think there is a point to buy a CPU upgrade until you have 4100 euros... The upgrade prices go up very slowly until you hit that one, so you might as well just get that one rather than wasting a whole lot slowly upgrading your CPU.

I think a 10 gig HD is all you really need until you get up to like 4.0 programs, then you can fit pretty much all you really need on a 30 gig or so...

Internet connection is the most annoying thing in this game though... expensive and essential to upgrade.

    this kinda sucks...

I thought the site was back up so I picked up all my $$ from my slaves, and now I have about $2.9K sitting in my accounts.

Fortunately I was able to clear my logs, and the majority of that $$ is sitting in a unknown account.

Someone needs to explain the trick to some of these riddles. Like crypto.txt, one of the ip's ends in .87 and I don't see how anyone could possibly get 87 out of the data there. I correctly got the rest of that ip, but my answer ended with .90.

And does riddle_reminder.txt honestly require you to try every combination of the 4 ip's? I haven't toyed with that riddle as much but the answer seems a bit random at a 5 minute glance.
