How are you heating this up and what did you actually use to do the dwarf molds?
I ask because I have this shell I found on a beach that I want to cast into a necklace or a ring or something.

I'm using <a href="http://www.tjhowse.com/burner/index.html" target="_blank">this</a> to heat the tin, with some cheap beakers I bought from a lab supply shop near my work. I carved the mold out of a block of plaster of paris using a small screwdriver and a lot of patience.
