Looks like the forums are dead

But yea, slow, not dead. When NS2 is released, these forums will flourish.
And yea, I kinda remember you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
This is the only part of the forums I frequent, and I used to do so because people always posted fun games and stuff here... People need to post more multiplayer games for us all to go play.
p.s. I don't remember you... Though i do remember Caboose.
Caboose, I remember you as well <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Welcome back regardless. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Well, some parts did, such as customization (one of my favorites *sob*)
Off-Topic is alive and kicking though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Totally agree. We need to set up times, get on a teamspeak server, and have fun.
I'm an OLD member! Way back when Natural-Selection used to be 1.4, and before that version.
Those who remember me, BlackPlague, and for those who don't, have fun!
Let's revive the game folks! This is one game that I still play =]<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Why aren't you using your old account? You could have emailed the admins to get it back instead of making a duplicate.
I remember BlackPlague, and I refuse to adjust to your new nomenclature! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Oh right, I had forgot about that. That was pretty bad indeed.
E:Coming only sports one "m"? What is this language of madness.
There are definitely a lot of new people, although maybe not new posters. 142 people registered on the forums this month.
I can think of a few free online games we could try.
TA-spring (remake of Total Annihilation, it's free. Tons of fun. Up to 16 players)
Soldat (Free 2d shooter, much fun)
I vote for Spring, I love that game so much.
Curses, you found all my spam accounts, foiled again!
And welcome back, I do recognize the name but like Scythe, remember little.

Disagree on both counts.
I played Spring once. My commander got stuck in the level and it was a huge waste of time.
Can you read the forums without a account? That might be a reason <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
What do you guys think?

Surprising. How long ago did you play? They continually turn out new versions and at this point the game is fully functional/very few errors. There is a sizable community as well.
It was within the last year... I just wasn't impressed. There didn't seem to be any advantage to playing Spring over the original TA. The 3d graphics in spring seemed poorly done and the UI is worse than in TA.
Well as far as advantage... Spring is actually balanced and playable online with a sizable community, I'm not sure what else to say about that...
I'll make a thread for it tomorrow and see how things go.
Sounds good.
Lets start:
You are participating in a quizshow.
The quizmaster tells you that there are 3 boxes. Under 2 boxes there is nothing and under 1 box there are the keys to your potentially new car.
<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->|??|....|??|....|??|
|__|....|__|....|__|
3 boxes and you just dont know, where the car keys are.<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
The quizmaster tells you to choose a box.
You choose a box.
<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->........MINE........
|??|....|??|....|??|
|__|....|__|....|__|
3 boxes and you chose one of them<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
Now the quizmaster opens one of the not chosen boxes, that contains nothing. (He can do that, cause there are 2 empty boxes and who knows where the keys are.)
<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->........MINE........
|..|....|??|....|??|
|__|....|__|....|__|
1 chosen closed, 1 revealed empty and 1 closed box.<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
Now there are 2 boxes with an unknown content and 1 box that has been revealed to be empty.
The quizmaster offers you to trade your chosen box for the other closed box.
Is it a good idea to trade boxes?
Or to be more mathematical: What are the chances for every box, to contain the key when the quizmaster asks you to trade boxes?
or does it go like this... the fact that you had a 67% chance of picking an empty box means he had a 67% chance of having no choice in which box he picked (the only other empty one) - and therefore, since he had a 2 out of 3 chance of having no choice, your odds are improved by switching?
I sure as hell can't put numbers on these chances. I haven't actually thought about math in like 10 years.
In practice, it doesn't matter.
