<div class="IPBDescription">Or get patch 1.3 if you already have the game</div><a href="http://www.thewitcher.com/" target="_blank">http://www.thewitcher.com/</a> for the patch.
Enhanced Edition should appear in stores worldwide, and is basically the original game except with patch 1.3 and tons of bonus content, all of which is downloadable if you already bought the game. Like an adventure editor, maps, a CD with the OST, and so on.
And patch 1.3 is really something. Many more NPC models, so less running into the same people repeatedly, improved animation system so conversations look more lifelike, improved combat to be more accurate, drastically reduced loading times... Quite possibly the biggest patch I've heard of being released for a game.
EDIT: Also a new sidestory, which is <a href="http://xs126.xs.to/xs126/08155/bug358.jpg" target="_blank">not entirely without fault</a>.

I'll try it again in a few weeks (although my biggest criticism is the horrific translation from Polish to English- which I guess hasn't changed as that'd require new conversation sound files)
EDIT: Yeah, turns out most of the cool stuff is reserved for the EE pack, although I did get to see the entire intro cutscene for once rather than half of it being skipped in favor of keeping pace with the music. Dunno if that's caused by something I did in the graphics options, or the patch making graphics load faster, or if it just ensures that cutscenes don't go out of synch now.
As I live in England I'm drowning in Poles so I'll be sure to give a couple a smack around the head in retribution <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
<i>For the Enhanced Edition, CD Projekt is completely re-doing the English language version while also improving foreign languages releases where needed. </i>(@shacknews.com)
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I was just about to install it based on what you said in your first post- but just checked this thread again and it's a damned shame if the good changes are only going to be in the "Enhanced Edition" which, in my eyes, is what the game should have been in the first place.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
From what I've read EE patch can be downloaded for free.
The reason why the game had some many bugs was simply caused by lack of resources and experience in the international releases. CD Project is making games for years, but most of it is designed for the polish market which requires less resources and the profits from the games are... well also "polish"-like. Now, after they got a proper cash flow from international release of The Witcher, despite it flaws, they could afford making it as it meant to be. Hopefully they gonna start making better games now! I think that designers from Poland (and other countries which are "emerging"), although producing games for masses, are still more "indie" than professional. That could change the trends in how the games are being made now to a bit less mindless. At least I hope so <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
