The best album I've heard in years.

Punch Brothers - Punch
http://www.myspace.com/punchbrothers

The technical virtuosity of the best bluegrass players in the world playing music with the complex harmonies of contemporary classical. I guarantee you've never heard anything like it. The only thing I'd fault about the album is that Chris Thile's voice, while adequate, doesn't compare with how mind blowingly awesome the instrumentals and the composition are. Also, it suffers from "great album syndrome" in that the first track isn't very good. (Every great album must have one bad or unbearable song, i.e. "The Crunge" or "Fitter Happier")

After being initially turned off by the complexity of the music, I've been listening to it non-stop since I got it last week, and discovering new things every time. I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't immediately turned off by hearing a banjo in a piece of music, which I understand is a fair percentage of the population.

It's not an easy balance to achieve, but we do want to make a game that will be both the best competitive game since Starcraft and also one that many people can enjoy casually without being in a clan or an experienced or knowledgeable NS player. That's the goal at least!

I prefer music that is hard to listen to. You know, the kind that takes SKILLS? Amateurs!
Military cemeteries around the world are packed with brainwashed, dead soldiers who were convinced God was on their side.

It's mellow bluegrass, very chill but these effeminate vocals are driving me up the wall.

They sound really great. I'll have to check out their album.

Moultano, check out The Portico Quartet. I saw them play last summer and they are incredible. They do jazz with some very experimental sounding instruments ( specifically the The Hang ). I think you'll like them. 'Knee Deep in the North Sea' is a good introduction to them.

If you follow this kind of stuff, Nonesuch is an RIAA affiliated label. So I'm afraid I won't be buying this album. Definitely try and see them when they travel to CT though. Looks like they travel all over fortunately.
