TODAY WE CELEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY!

If you saw the documentary "Independence Day" starring Will Smith and Bill Pullman, you would know about that time when aliens invaded earth and America declared Independence Day an international holiday. Everybody should know this by now!

In all seriousness, happy 4th to all the other Americans out there! Keep on rockin' in the free world, as Neil Young put it. And don't blow your fingers off with fireworks!

And remember kids, you didn't celebrate it right unless everything smells and tastes like gunpowder tomorrow morning.

Looks like I celebrated it right last night then. My hands are utterly charred black, I smell of sulfur and we did some really stupid stuff last night. Those little spinny disk satellite things that shoot sparks everywhere? Mildly okay on their own. But they become instant fun when you attach it to a bottle rocket. ^_^

Hell, anything attached to a bottle rocket becomes awesome.

Oh my god, bottle rockets and tape <3 Attach a black snake to it and start the snake early, then launch the rocket. You have to dodge fragments falling out of the air. Oh fun.

Tape four sets of firecrackers onto two bottle rockets and twist the fusses together. Make sure you light them at the right time or else the rockets will go off first and you'll be getting bombed by fire crackers. >.>

    <.<

    Fun day.

    I lost my shoe.

    =(

edit: I almost forgot. Stuff lots of fire crackers into a huge glob of napalm and light it on fire.

No joke: I'm in Fresno, CA, and one of the fireworks lit up in my dad's truck about 2 hours ago. It was wicked.

Unfortunately I'm in Germany, and apparently international students don't like illegal fireworks at 9 PM...The police didn't seem to mind as much. Unfortunately the good stuff (AKA, jumping jacks, fountains, tanks, rockets, roman candles...even sparklers) could not be acquired...

I have learned that many Bulgarians, Germans, Poles and Slovakians are keen on celebrating American independence, as long as it involves blowing things up.

    Ha! awsome, I so aprove.

My 4th was spent the way I like to.

Gather friends in central park and just hang out all day. Play some ultimate, eat lots, play some games, wrestle, etc etc.

No fireworks currently as I have no source to aquire good stuff (livign in the middle of NYC is like that).

When I was younger we used to always go up to my granparents who live in NC, a rather short drive to SC where just aobut every firework is legal <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

My brother and I would stock up on so much stuff (huge brown bags), enough to last us each through the year.

There were suposedly some good fire works displays this year, but I was probably on the train going back home (And compleatly wiped_ at the time. (honestly, I don't care about the siplays, if you ain't blowing it up your self, whats the point?)
