If only I had the competency to actually get through Starcraft I so I could be prepared for this. Time to pick it up, I guess... I never had the patience for it before but I've been more interested in the RTS genre recently.


Also: $250 for that statue?? What about a Zerg?!

as expected from Blizzard- SC2 is gonna be a refinement of SC1. i'm happy enough with that.

i'm with you Athena- i bought SC and BW many years ago but never got further than the original Zerg campaign. a couple of months ago i installed it to finish it, but i just cant bring myself to playing a game released in '98. i dont think of myself being a graphics ######, but god damn the game is ugly now.

At first I thought it was too shiny, then I noticed that its more just the fact that the team colors are too bright. Which totally makes the shiny worse.

I'm liking it so far. I like the shinier protoss, although some units seem a bit too mechanical.. the overall liquid metallic look is imo fits their theme nicely:) Zerg units seem more numerous (and presumably cheaper) so the "swarm" theme of their race definitely looks much more impressive. As for terrans, they have a more "industrial" look to them now, bit more grimy...

Let's not pick too many straws yet though! Things can still change alot but I am sure as hell pre-ordering this one...

I was hoping for a 4th race as well... But if its any hope, in their site FAQ, they explictly do not rule out a 4th race. My bet is on a new race being added in the inevitable expansion pack...

Until I saw the gameplay videos.

Man, that game looks awesome. I was a bit afraid they'd screw the gameplay up, but so far it looks really promising. Hopefully they won't put in hero-units (WC3 style)
