I'll take the MMOFPS for mind blowing awesomeness please: - Rolling around in a Seige tank, then going seige mode to deliver some serious justice (then having to evacuate your burning tank, whip out a pistol and pick of the zerglings overrunning you). - Flying around in a cloaked Wraith, dog fighting with Muta's and/or picking off hapless Overlords. - Walking around with two Gemini missile launchers strapped to your shoulders talkin 'bout "Goliath Online" and "Go ahead Tac-com". - Getting a barbeque started with some zerglings and some "propane accessories"...
It'd be like NS, on crack. Actually, it'd be more like a non-EA version of BF2. If they could pull that one out of the hat, I think they'd give EA a run for their money. Here's to hoping: <!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->bind mouse1 +attack bind mouse2 +cloak bind mouse3 +lockdown bind mouse4 +NUCLEARSTRIKE<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
If I remember right, Ghost switched consoles multiple times... before it got scrapped. Which is too bad, I was really looking forward to it -_-;;
Blizz's site has them hiring for a new MMO, and I can't really imagine them trying to start a new franchise. How about World of Diablo? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

That would be a smart move to confuse fans who are sitting out there infront of their monitors guessing like there's no tomorrow.. >_>
I hope they create an MMOFPS. I'd like to just see terran vs zerg, thats it. Hell, I wouldn't care if you didn't get to fight against real players either, just overwhelming amounts of cannon fodder coming at me for six hours - I'm occupied.
How about a MMOFPS where you can pick any of the Starcraft races to explore the world of Azeroth through a portal opened by the Xel'Naga and save all of the planets/world/realms before Diablo can re-reincarnate and doom us all?
While I would like an MMOFPS (very, very much), I don't see it happening. Not from Blizzard. There's no precedent. Blizzard's forte is taking a working model and polishing the hell out of it. World of Warcraft, for instance, was a refined and improved version of Everquest. Everquest worked, Everquest was a success. They took it and polished it to a mirror sheen. In an admittedly far-fetched analogy, Blizzard is the gaming world's Acura. They don't design something new, they just improve it.
The precedents as far as MMOFPS games go are World War 2 Online and Planetside. My knowledge of WW2OL is too limited, so I'll focus on Planetside. Despite the bad rap it go, the game wasn't all bad. Show me another fps that can pull off four hundred people on a single map and still be playable (I'm told Planetside could not do this at launch, but it did manage it later on). But Planetside was a flop due to a large amount of factors. The MMOFPS formula has not been completed yet. You cannot yet feed the variables into it and expect a good product to pop out at the other end.
But that's what Blizzard does, and does well. They apply the formula. Any formula, as long as it's solid. But there is no solid formula for MMOFPS games yet. Innovation is needed, and Blizzard doesn't innovate.
That said, Penny Arcade's Tycho makes the case for a Starcraft <a href="http://www.penny-arcade.com/2007/05/07" target="_blank">MMO,</a> and his arguments are not easily refuted.

I watch G4 alot, namely XPlay and AOTS, what I learned from a segment on AOTS was that the next SC game was announced to be an MMO and not a strategy or RPGStrategy game.

Anyway, the SC cutscene made me think about Toy Story. I'd rather see gameplay than cutscenes.
