well high gore is out, period.
I don't like the idea of 3rd person, doesn't fit NS and offers nothing. While it may look cool to see your self get bit, it would get old real fast.
why is it out, cant they just make the game mature?

because the dev's said so.

That, and making the game mature costs thousands upon thousands of sales, from parents who won't let their kids buy Mature-rated games.
A third-person view would make NS different, in the sense that it would screw up gameplay and allow people to see around corners, see a skulk sneaking behind them, etc...This idea isn't good for NS, and third-person was discussed elsewhere, I believe.

The thousands of kid voices I hear in CS tells me otherwise.

Seriously. Any movement-based game without a thirdperson cam feels badly unpolished to me. It's the FIRST thing that struck me about NS when I had just barely installed it, I kept asking "where the ###### is my thirdperson skulk cam?"
Yes I realize it's a balance issue. You could easily give it to aliens and not to rines. Put some random bs about the kharaa having evolved some sensory giblets of some form. Rines don't need a thirdperson cam to feel polished, but aliens will never, in my opinion, look right without one.
third person unbalances the game, it lets you see around corners.
