I uninstalled NS 3.2 beta which worked fine prior to my last game on Thursday. Today, I uninstalled NS 3.2beta and installed NS 3.2, but when I try to launch the game, it says;

Steam - Error

This game is currently unavailable.
Please try again at another time.

I own Half-Life on the steam account, so I'm really confuddled. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" /> You've all been able to play NS 3.2, right ?

    Try one of a few things...

    Try rebooting Steam, by rightclicking on the system tray icon, and then on Exit. Reopen Steam, then rerun through the training course in HL. Not just open the course, but actually run through the whole damn thing. Then, after all that, try NS again.

    OR. You can uninstall NS, install 3.2, and play the game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    It works for me!

    I think I can shed some light on this.

    What seems to happen, totally at random, is that Steam will have a transmission error, which will them leave it unable to communicate your user details to the master authentication network.
    What this causes, is Steam will think that you've not got any of the games actually bound to your account, and will display them all as "Preload Complete - 100%", to show that they're ready for unlocking.

    Now, before you panic, they're not telling you to buy them all again. It's just a transmission error. Unfortunately, it's a bug within Steam that they haven't addressed yet...

    Now, just as you're thinking "What has this got to do with the original problem?", is where I say this.
    This bug can do one of 2 things. It can just dump you back to the "My Store" section, with either the corresponding page for whatever product you wanted to play, OR, it can display the above error, about the game being unavailable.

    The fix, at the moment in time, is just to simply restart Steam.
