    Start your own IRC channel if you don't like it. HL might be a 15+ game, but NS isn't.

    You need to buy a 15+ game to play a 13+ game apparently. Technically 14 and below should not be playing NS anyway.

    Basically, 'PG-13' is more a rule of thumb than a strict rule. By that I mean we don't constantly crosscheck the happenings in the channel against the PG-13 classification guidelines. As I see it, PG-13 sits a short distance back from the top of a slippery slope. If we were to start allowing additional things beyond what's currently allowed, it would become harder for the IRC ops to enforce what rules remained.

    The intention for the forums, IRC and the UWE community as a whole has always been to promote a relatively friendly, or at the very least, civil atmosphere. Over the years that I've been here I'm yet to come across a situation where the level of maturity that we're trying to encourage has adversely affected the community. More importantly, I fail to see how anything would be gained by relaxing the rules and as such, there is no reason for doing so.
