<div class="IPBDescription">Thank God for his strength during the hard times to come</div>Quit WoW = Winnar in RL

Hard times are going to be coming I can feel it. Most of my college friends play and they will just keep talking about it.

God will hopefully give me the strength to hopefully get drunk and pass out before they start to talk about WoW Again.

It was easier for me because honestly I don't enjoy WoW. Lvls 1-60 were fun, but only because of my awesome guildmates. I figured I may or may not jump back in for Burning Crusade; it turns out I get 10 frames per second. Screw that. I'll leave WoW to my brother and go back to Jagged Alliance 2, X-Wing Alliance, and other games with the word "Alliance" in the title.

How about "Craptasm: Alliance"? I bet that would be your favorite game. You filthy deserter!

    @Tigersmith:

You'll come back. They all come back.

Give it a little while and you'll wonder why you ever played it to begin with. Once you get over the novelty of playing an amazing badarse in a fantasy world, you'll realise all the flaws and shortcomings of WoW make it a terrible game. The only allure was a delusional one, and I don't need to pay $20 a month [on top of $150 game costs], and play for 80 hours a month [grinding uninspired mobs for 79 hours a month] to delude myself.

I cancelled, got my BC pre-order money back, and bought DoD:S.

I might look into playing again when they make some changes to Priests/healers in general, but until then... meh.

Congratulations on your purchase of Real life, the game thats completely not a video game. In this game (that isn't a game) you can experience:

    - Complete lack of defined objectives
    - No checkpoints, quickloads or saves of any kind
    - A linear game which has the eerie ability to seem completely free-roaming
    - Monthly costs!
    - Sophisticated NPC's that you can build or destroy relationships with
    - Reciprocity
    - Causality
    - Judgement
    - Embarassment

    uhm..

    - Incredible engine, rendering water, cloth and light refractions perfectly.

I quit right before BC came out. I was straight on addicted playing my priest from 1-60 (took about 6 weeks). However I stopped playing for like 3 days because of testing, then found I never really wanted to open it back up. Meh.

Also pardzh, what don't you like about priests? I had more fun shadow priesting then any other character I ever played. What do you think is wrong with them?

Holy tree is useless, but disc is the ideal healing one. So it has 2 useful talent trees... just like almost every other race?

You are calling me a bad priest for using Disc spec? What? You want me to overheal people for 3k hp on a regular basis? Ill pass. Disc gives you tons of bonus mana and quite a few other useful spells, like the 20% increase damage one. Holy gives you slightly better heals, which is pretty much unneeded (you already have the best in the game).

Power Infusion and Pain Suppression both suck. Hard.

There's just nothing worth investing a lot of points into either the Disc or Holy trees at this point.

You're a bad Priest if you're not DPSing hard to keep your Holy Pally's mana bar full.

I've actually been leveling 2 different priests for friends in my guild, because they don't have enough time to keep up in the grind to 70. I don't play them permenently, no, but I play them enough to know their fine.

I started playing and came back to WoW because I get too bored of real life to bother with any of those. Huh.

On the subject of classes, am I really the only person who enjoys every position there is in WoW? I've played a 60 of every class extensively (I have/had access to many people's accounts, for a reason I never did figure out. Alot of people just said "hey dude play my account and have fun" and I was like k) and love every role for its own reasons. Possibly why I've been so obsessed with my paladin as of late, and why I've always adored them but could never level on Alliance. Well-rounded ftw.

I quit WoW for about half a year ago. IRL owns. However the girls doesn't look as good here though. But seriously after i quited and changed my clothing style, those girls begun to notice me. Currently my Conversation skill is like 40/300 but its slightly improving. IRL is really the best thing that ever happened to me, and i strongly suggest that you guys do the same!

I found real life completely disappointing. I don't know, people are easy and boring and it's nigh on impossible to find someone with interests outside of sex and drinking. Yawn. Waking up before noon is too hard to have to suffer the average moron along with work and the other punishments of social existence.
  • eedioteediot Join Date: 2003-02-24 Member: 13903Members
I know what you mean. The main allure for WoW is definitely the high class people I can associate with, as well as the intellectual community and philosophical themes and discussions rampant throughout the zones, especially on the Alliance side. Sex and drugs can never hope to come close to the ecstasy obtained through even a 5-minute sample of the intellectual discussion that occurs on any given server in General chat.
