Yep, Vanguard is 20gb of utter crap as far as I've ever heard.

Any screenshots of TBC, or stories or anything? Or is it just the same old grind in a pretty new location?

Where do you get forty million from? I heard they just broke eight million subscribers. I don't know what the subscription is, but let's say thirteen dollars, which is probably not far from the truth. Eight million times thirteen makes over a hundred million dollars per month.

Maybe it goes down to forty million once you substract server and staff costs, but I wouldn't be so sure about that. Of course, Vivendi probably eats most of that.

$40,000,000 was his quote for a week. You're dealing with a month (and so was the 'server fees' quote of "tens of millions", so just consider it $160,000,000/month for income, based on this source.

I have a 58 priest sitting around on some server; I don't forsee spending $40 dollars to increase the number any further (or even $20). It's just not fun, you do the same thing repeatedly. The world, as it is with most MMORPGs is far too static, and everybody wants to run MC and UBRS for the 8 trillionth time, pffft. Now it'd just be replaced by whatever new dungeons they've concocted. They take all the fun out of finding stuff, like getting in the 'secret' ironforge area, or getting on top of the cities.

Its $15 a month here, otherwise Gecko got it right.

Installing, 57%. Athena, I'm Hordeside Maelstrom, would love to see you.

A friend of mine who works at blizzard got me a year's free subscription and he says he could easily get another at the end of each year sooo... I guess if I want to I could play WoW forever for free :o

With that in mind I'm buying BC just to give it a shot ^^

Only problem is, after running WoW for about an hour it crashes to the desktop :/

It's error 132 which supposedly means it's something to do with RAM setup or something. following through the steps I updated my sound drivers and stuff (I'll update my vid card drivers soon too) but I'm not too keen on upgrading my BIOS just for one game, so I've not touched that yet :p

WoW used to run fine way back when I first played it and the only difference I can think of RAM-wise is I replaced a 256 stick with a 512 (bringing me from 768 to 1GB). Worst comes to worst I could just pull out the new 512 and see what happens :o

<b>edit:</b> I've got friends on Thunderhorn and Bronzebeard so I'll be on those two servers :3

I actually have a 30 year WoW account, thanks to a friend at Blizz. Not sure if this is an employee account or what.

So uh... fiance and I both bought BC. Funny thing is, my comp can read disc 1 of my set but gets localization.xml error, while his comp can't read it at all. Gonna try his disc 1 now...

edit: oddly enough, same on both systems. he can't read disc 1 from either set, while i get the xml error on disc 1 from either set.

he <b>could</b> have given me a 30 year account but the two he had, he gave one to his wife (fair enough) and bizarrely he gave the other to some girl we all passingly know who sorta plays it from time to time and doesn't really speak to us much.

There was a bit of an arguement over that, especially when one of my other friends had a go at him saying he should've given that account to me :o

Thought it was daft fighting over accounts though so I didn't make a big deal of it... though I'm still totally baffled why he gave her the account instead of me. His defence was 'she asked first' even though he barely knows her, has known me for ages, knows I would probably make good use of the account and everyone pretty much automatically assumed I'd be getting it anyways. Go figure :/

<b>edit:</b> I guess I better get my rear in gear and go buy it... I've reserved what names I could on the servers I intend on playing on though :3

you sure he doesnt know her more than "passingly" ? I'm just saying, is all.

Uh-huh, definitely just passingly. He's married after all and is really, really devoted.

The only thing I can think of is that the girl in question is another friend's ex and there was a huge drama concerning their breakup as the friend went on shortly after to start going out with another girl. People started being daft and picked 'sides' with my Blizzard friend claiming he was neutral but picking the girl's side.

The most bizarre thing about that whole mess was that nobody was in open conflict but they all kept bugging me to choose one side as if me selecting someone was assured victory in some imaginary battle.

I didn't pick a side in the end and the whole thing died down, especially after I expressed my concerns openly that the whole damn thing was just silly.

Okay, I gotta ask. Are you a guy or a girl? I feel like somehow it should be obvious, but over the years... I don't know. I just don't know.

Nobody has any screenshots/stories of TBC? Too busy grinding?

Bah WoW. My first experience from the 10 day trial was 1. Grind 2. Bring me X recieve Y amounts of reward 3. Lots of neverending running tru big empty spaces and 4. A moron following me and killing everything so I didn't get any XP just because I refused to duel with him (was about 6 levels over me), GG WoW.

I also had no practical idea how (no guidence either) to get people for my first instance. I guess it is shouting "LFG" all over local channel?

I was totally pumped for this like 1 week ago. However I haven't played WoW in 5 days, and it has worn me out... again. Only took 1 month this time. Probably going to cancel my account again...w

Though what I did learn was being a priest is alot of fun. Shadow in PvP = win.

I picked mine up at lunch time by walking down to the shop and buying it for €35. That's cheaper than the preorder, no risk of late delivery, and some healthy exercise thrown in to the mix.

Of course, I still haven't reached level 60 with my original wow character. I must have more money than sense.
