No Video Available

Hey there, so basically I pre-ordered the game yesterday after being shown some videos with gameplay, and infact remember playing the original Natural Selection a long while ago, thus was excited to crack on with this.

However upon completeing the download, when I open the game up, it simply just shows 'No Video Available' on my monitor, yet continues to play the sounds in the background which would suggest possibly a resolution issue? Something graphic wise either way.

These are my current specs via dxdiag (I do run on 64-bit, but they both show the same info), I've also tried installing DX via DXSetup in the redist folder, my drivers are upto date. I also tried to change the opening resolution via Steam's 'launch options' properties to no avail.

I then also went to check the options text file via Notepad, and it doesn't give me the ability to change the graphics (As in, it's not showing up in the text). It just shows the input for the controls, nothing else.

Couldn't seem to find a similar problem posted through technical support either, so I'm unsure as to what to do, it's relatively frustrating. And any help would be greatly appreciated.

And thank you for taking the time to look into it.

    Welcome to NS2.

    Open your explorer and type %appdata%, in the natural selection 2 folder is an options.xml.

    Search the following and change x-y values to this:
    <graphics>
    <display>
    <x-resolution>1920</x-resolution>
    <quality>1</quality>
    <y-resolution>1080</y-resolution>
    <fullscreen>true</fullscreen>
    </display>

    Maybe disabling fullscreen help also.

    Aye I tried that, but unfortunately there's nothing like that showing up for me.

    Is all I seem to get. I tried to launch it with a certain resolution via steam at some point but had no luck with that either.

    Then copy&paste the <graphics>-setting into the options.xml @ the end.

    I'm kind of in a mix of annoyance and depression for not doing that in the first place, I thought maybe I should but I didn't want to mess around with things I have no knowledge of.

    Seems to be working fine now though upon placing it in manually, here's hoping it remains to work without any issues.

    Sorry for the hassle and the time I wasted, and thank you.
