Hate to break it to you, but now that anyone can set their own custom title, they're about as special as having an avatar or a signature.

It's under Edit Profile Information under your user control panel. I've kept mine the default because now I feel like non-custom titles are the rarity =p

Hey, if you get your hands on any more keys you don't know what to do with, I certainly wouldn't mind one - but make me a last priority because I'm not a Starcraft freak like a lot of people. I have only a moderate interest in the game but would enjoy a chance to test it out. :)

I have only played one game and am not really in to it that much. Which has nothing to do with the game, I'm more of a turn based or fps* kinda guy.

I enjoy watching other people play tho.

    Sadface :-(

Congrats to all the folks who got keys, and many thanks to Panigg for being such a pal and giving these keys out in the first place.

I will now resume my wait for an email from Blizzard of some sort... and I will look longingly through your windows and miserably paw at them at night, forever envious of the warmth that only an SC2 beta key could hope to provide.

    Holy ######.

So, I just had my best game yet and I won. 41 minutes long, and crazy telling.

    Lessons learned:

#1: Scouting works. I sent 6 skulks over to explore, noticed the enemy had an extra base, went to get rid of his probes there... and a Carrier came to kill my skulks.

    Hmmm.

So, I made 3 corruptors, as the tooltip said they only attacked other air units and were Anti-Air in general. I knew they could disable buildings, but that seemed really 'meh', till later.

I sent those 3 corruptors with a bunch more skulks and roaches, only to be attacked by 5 or 6 Carriers and a MOTHERSHIP. Oh hell.

    Better make more Corruptors, because

#2: MOTHERSHIPS ARE NOT INVINCIBLE. In fact, 7 or 8 corruptors make short work of the ######. Brought him down /good/, in a hell of a fight. He even came back and destroyed half my base... till I spawned 11 Corruptors from the Hive he just explodered and slaughtered his attacking force mid-attack.

I rebuilt, and found out, just for good measure

#3: CORRUPTORS ARE BADASS. Send them with some Mutilisks, and they'll protect the Mutis as they tear apart the enemy base. Then when you inevitably find some turrets shooting at you, THE CORRUPTORS CAN DISABLE THEM.

(Tip: Select all your Corruptors and just keep disabling buildings- don't worry about selecting the right one or even waiting for some 'cooldown'- it'll send whoever can do it first to do it immediately)

In short: Corruptors are amazing. Hot damn.

If you're playing the zerg and are going against terrans try out the Infestor. Terrans have a few strats but the one I see the most is MM&M (Marine, Marauder, and Medivac). The Infestors can take over the medivacs and while under your control you have 10 seconds to fly them to random corners of the map. Most zerg make 'lings (both zerglings and banelings) as they're the most effective counter to terrans as of now and the Infestors fits in well as it can also root the enemy making them easy targets for your 'lings.

Apparently, from what others have told me! I played a bunch of SC, but my game was 90% based around Carriers, 'cause I was a nubletpaicaeks.

And SentrySteve, thanks for the idea. I never thought of that, and /have/ been having trouble against Terran players. I'll see what I can do with it :3

Gameplay aside, I find the Terran's music a little weak. I was expecting something a little heavier, but sometimes it just sounds like I'm playing SimCity. The music in SC1 was way more awesome.

Some of the units quotes make up for it though (when you keep clicking on them). I lol'ed quite a bit.

Goddamnit! Quaunaut and I circled eachother for half an hour like a pair of high templars trying to merge until we finally managed to get a game going. I'd got him on the ropes when my computer crashed. Grrr.

I really need to replace that memory.

So a really popular strategy for terran, and some protoss, is to turtle then tech up to a tier 1.5 / 2.0 unit then hit. This is fairly annoying because the choke points into the bases can be easily defending, it can be difficult to scout them, and just about every other player does it. It's also difficult because the traditional counter to a turtle is to expand but if you expand you blow too much income on your economy and aren't able to compete with their military when they move out. As a zerg, I've been trying to come up with ways to break the turtle before they're ready to attack. I've tried banelings into their choke which is very costly and if the choke is defended properly, may not even clear it.

Most of my successful turtle breaks come from the Nydus Worm. You can use the overlord to reveal just enough of the main, preferably in a random corner somewhere, to plant the worm then stream out zerg/banelings (if Terran). I will then try to tech to Mutas either slightly before or during the attack so kill any buildings they lift up can be killed. A protoss turtle is much more easy to defeat as the protoss don't have a clear counter to Mutas.

I recommend watching the following livecaster of awesome:
    http://www.livestream.com/striderdoom

It's Day9, and he breaks down the strats and stuff for SC2, especially the ones he's figured out on his own. He's also just awesome.

He also has many, many episodes stored up that you can watch whenever. So, read up on your strats!
