Importer for which version of MAX?
I recently saw one even for the newest version, but it was in beta stages. This was some weeks ago though, it might have developed since then.

Use .obj, that's a pretty reliable format. You may need a max plugin for the export though.

The SMD import/export plugins might be here (these are gmax and max 4.2, but they should work for more recent versions - they certainly worked for me with max 5): http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/download/d...oad.asp?id=1676

If you want to stick to those green lights I'd advice putting an $additive texture on a seperate face above it to strengthen the "glow" effect. Or (for the ultimate win) create a rotating bone and assign a flare effect (sprite) to it so that it lightens up when it is above one of the lights, creating the effect of the lights flashing up in a certain order....

There doesn't seem to be a coherent light source, especially the lighting at the back of the legs. A good light source would be directly above the model, and it would work especially well with the way the UV map was done.

The additive texture I can easily do but your next suggestion would require an all new skeleton, along with new animations. Are you volunteering yourself?

It would only require changes to a two animations...

The skin is something very unique. Something that most people for some reason steer away from (light colors) when it comes to ns. I'm very impressed with the detail thrown in as well. Excellent job so far and keep it up.

I love the lighter skin, but hopefully a darker one will be released.

My attempt at skinning. I'm trying to keep as close to the original as possible. Only thing is copied the design of the top part from the original texture without looking at the model. It turns out the top texture is flipped in the model. Eh. I can live with it

Nothing really astounding really, just showing my progress.

Hey... ZeroByte!

Nice mesh, looks clean and everything. I also liked your skin. I was wondering, would you mind if I give skinning it a shot? I'll just skin off the map and wait for you to release it if you don't mind.

Nice ray, but maybe you should make it a bit darker so that it fits the NS enviroment

Very nicely done. I just got an X850 XT. Can't wait for this to really brighten up the detail in NS.
