If someone's going to be on my team as a marine, I just want to make sure you know what type of player I am, what I usually go for, and my tactics, etc. So here.
My biggest goal in games of research (strategy games, stuff like that) is defense. I think the best way to fight something is to be fortified with defensive armor and equipment. So you're probably gonna see me shouting for that power shielding when it becomes available. If you're one of those number guys, I'll give you a ratio.
As an estimate, I'd probably research 2 or 3 armor upgrades for every 1 offensive upgrade. Hell, maybe even 4 armor upgrades. I'm like that.
As such, you're probably going to see me hanging in the back of the squads. I'll probably be watching the back, until something hits us from the front, at which point I'll turn around to face forward. Either that or until I get a really close haircut from a Level 1 that drops from the ceiling and decides to take me out, just because I'm last in the squad's formation.
Either that or you'll see me on Defense back at base... until the commander wants me to do something, at which point I'll salute and go die trying to do what he said because he sent me alone. I'm like the comic relief guy. Here's an example of what's going to happen...Commander: Hey. You there.
Surge, under his breath: Damn!
Surge: Yes sir?
Commander: Go in that tunnel.
Surge: .....but it's covered with organic stuff. What if it's a trap?
Commander: Well, someone's gotta go check it out.
Surge: Why don't we toss a grenade in, find another route, or use a mirror or something? Don't you have the ability to see it?
Commander: C'mon, soldier. Do it for your team.
Surge: Gah.... fine... Okay, gimme a shotgun. Alright, I'm going in, watch my back guys.
Surge was hacked to bits by (ANONYMOUS LEVEL 1).
Commander: Hmm... okay, don't go that way. Squad, move back and go around it.
As you can see, I could be used as the decoy, easily. And hell, I'll follow orders like Mordenkaiden's Faithful Hound!... or puppy. Whatever. Maybe a Faithful Level 1... or familiar.... or a gun. I forgot.
As a commander, I'm probably going to be spending the resources for the heavy defenses.
In other words, as a commander, I'm probably going to get my team killed. So I'd really
appreciate it if you'd give me pointers and tips on what to do. I'm one of those guys that likes to take
I'll have to take extensive training before becoming Commander... either that, or I'll do it early so I won't look as bad.
The type of weapons I use... well, it sort of depends on the level. As most of the weapons are short range, they're right up my alley. I excel at close quarters battles. That's why one of my favorite types of weapons are shotguns. Give me a shotgun and I'll be happy, commander!
Just telling you my tactics and habits. You got any tactics/habits, too? Try and inform me. And when I play as commander, I urge you to give me
orders on what to order you to do! I'd appreciate any
(BTW, my first full topic. Not reply.)
