For the Devs: Why is Subnautica so laggy for me?

in Subnautica General Discussion
Normally my computer can run stuff fine, for example CS GO with high shaders at 60fps. (That's good for me).\
But, when loading Subnautica for the first time it was EXTREMELY laggy, and even after putting graphics settings on minimum still laggy. Is it a case of my computer being terrible or a bug or something?
My specs are here: Model Name: Mac mini
Model Identifier: Macmini7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 8 GB

    It is a combination of Subnautica being not very well optimized (yet) and your computer being terrible.

    This review lists FPS values of your Computer for some (non-Early-Access) games and compared to those, your Subnautica performance seems fitting. Sorry :(

    Like I've said to other people on this forum complaining about performance on mac: Don't expect serious gaming performance out of a mac. Its just not gonna happen. Integrated graphics just aren't gonna get you very far unfortunately. For Subnautica you need at least a mid-range discrete graphics card because it isn't very optimized yet.

    I pretty much don't have performance issues on my Mac. For subnautica or any other game I play on it. It is really awesome in fact.
