That's cool; a sneaky promotion for a certain other game we're all watching...

Might be for the Mysterious Egg that is mentioned on the Subnautica Alterra Edition announcement back in October 2014.

"Owners of Natural Selection 2 although get the Mysterious Egg ingame. Hatch your own trusty companion!"

I assume that this is for some water creature from Natural Selection 2 or isn't in Natural Selection 2 or Subnautica and not the Cutepet.

I think it is a link between the two games. In NS2, the Kharra are a bit like a virus in that they infect things around them to spread. In Subnautica, the survivors of the Degasi are getting sick, and the Warper refer to the 'Charra', and their reason for killing other aurora survivors is that they are infected with it. The ticket could be a hint that some of the passengers were marines, or at the very least people, who were infected with the Kharra virus. This would set up a stronger link between the two games, and I am excited to see what it means.

Warpers aren't doing a very good job, I see all KINDS of infected stuff.

NS2 level set on the Aurora, perhaps?
