Please tell me there won't be 'Base ONLY' buildable interactables

While I like the base stuff I really was more thrilled about the cyclops both before it was released and after, for those that don't WANT to build a base for whatever reason will we be able to do the same things with just the cyclops?

One of the tenants of Subnautica is the open-world idea of "make your own story". So if you don't want to do something, you don't have to. However, I would think it odd that such a large part of Subnautica (effort/feature-wise) wouldn't be at least minimally required to do something (like research, sustainability, mining, etc).
