What do I do now?

I've built a pretty big base, I have a seamoth docked in my Cyclops, and I am full on food and water. Is there anything else to do until the worlds get bigger? Any cool secrets, easter eggs, weird formations I could go search for? Anything, pretty much. I could build little things, but I want to explore, and the world just isn't big enough.

Id also like to know this.

Also, when you fenture past the life pod. The food and water materials just go? i feel this is annoying and tedius because it runs out so fast before you can explore.

Well, you can put a fabricator in the Cyclops, so you can make food on the go. What I'm really waiting for is self-sustainability. Fish tanks, gardens, that sort of thing, so you don't have to go looking for food every 30 minutes.

Mushroom forest? Jelly Shroom caves? Massive Mushroom Tree? The cave under that tree with diamonds? Countless deep sea caves? The debris field near the spaceship? Lavazone? Volcanic geysers? Some pretty cool deep caves in the Kelp Forest?

Just some places off the top of my head that you should definitely try and find (hint: for the lavazone I suggest enabling the console and typing "biome inactivelava"

...have to go looking for food every 30 minutes

Whatever did you find to hold you over that long? I played one survival game and had to eat something every 5-10 minutes! Stalker sharks must be good eatin'! LOL

But yeah, I agree that this game needs some kind of greenhouse base addon, a hydoponics bay or something where you can grow your own food and not have to hunt it down and risk starving to death because your last hope of a good meal swims right into the mouth of a bone shark.

Thanks for the lavazone tip, I was wondering where I could find it.

I filled my inventory with Acid Mushrooms, so I wouldn't have to go looking every time my food gets low. The devs talked about an aquarium of sorts, and that's what I'm looking forward to.

So the back of my ship would be pointed towards the engines? Or towards the right side of the ship

Thanks, @Seldkam and @Wolf2000, I'm gonna go find that island.

@Toothbrush123 No problem-- now that I'm on my PC I can type out a particularly interesting glitch that will help you out:
(last time I played this bug was still present-- so I'm assuming it still is. )

If you face towards the area we told you to, outside of a vehicle is the best way to do this, l would suggest going literally half above and half below the surface, and then just a tad down, really a millimeter. The water effect that moves over your eyes will actually show (at an absurdly long distance) the outline of the massive floaters that keep the island afloat-- effectively giving you xray vision through the fog of war so to speak

@Seldkam Thanks for the tip, I have found the island, but I'll definitely use that so I know that I'm heading in the right direction next time. :)

No problem, glad you found it (even if it is rather just eyecandy atm ;) )

Haha yeah, can't wait to see its future uses. This game gets me so excited!! So much potential.

Defiantly. and it isn't even 10% done in my opinion by the way things are looking. I look forward to the +90% more to the game that the devs are working on ;)

@Seldkam how do I explore the debris of the ship? I just die of radiation when I get close. Do I need to be in experimental?
  • SeldkamSeldkam Join Date: 2014-01-01 Member: 191213Members
Lol not the ship itself, there is a bed of scrap metal that goes on for ages near the ship
  • Toothbrush123Toothbrush123 U.S.A Join Date: 2015-02-11 Member: 201313Members
Either way, I can't find any thing like that. Maybe I'll look closer, explore a bit with the seamoth.
  • SeldkamSeldkam Join Date: 2014-01-01 Member: 191213Members
maybe it is actually experimental. not sure
  • Toothbrush123Toothbrush123 U.S.A Join Date: 2015-02-11 Member: 201313Members
Well, I'll check it out. Been meaning to try out experimental for a while.
