I just bought this game a few days ago and then downloaded it but its stuck at 100% on suspended, it then goes to say "an error occurred while updating Natural Selection 2 (disk read error)" I cant figure out how to fix this, and I really want to play this game. Any and all help is appreciated.

Did you try verifying the integrity of game cache?

did you put it directly in your c drive(windows drive)? I.E. C:/Steam/steamapps/common/natural selection 2. IT should be in program files, or on a separate hard drive.

It looks like a permissions issue to me.

Looks like you have a problem with your harddrive.
Check if you have enough space left on your drive or let windows check that drive.

The things i would do are:
#1 run check disk. if your drive is having bad times you want to know. (i have not watched the movie but hopefully its helpful)
#2 after any issues on the disk are sorted out uninstall and install ns2

Please check your System event log for messages like "The device, \Device\xyz1, has a bad block".
If there are a lot of those, I'd highly recommend backing up data and running further diagnostics to confirm a dying HDD.
