I have a bug that makes Minimal Infestation looks good!

Can we make it look like this all the time? The regular minimal infestetation looks quite ugly. :[

Edit: It looks better if you see it in game, the screenshot does do it justice. Someone should make a mod to make it like this always!

    I've seen this too and honestly think I get better performance with it like this. I'm fairly sure you were playing on a modded server though (not a bug).

    EDIT: Looks like I am wrong. People are saying it is a bug.

    I at one time heard about a mod for infestation that was supposed to improve performance, never did find it.

    Yeah, I always wondered why the minimal infestion sometimes looked like that and other times it didn't. Could be a mod on a server that I wasn't aware of.

    I do like it better than the normal minimal look as well.

    It's not a mod afaik. It's some kind of server bug. We had it on the All-In server (of which the only mod running was ns2 stats) and we were going nuts trying to figure out how/why it does this. We wanted to turn it back to normal for the ESL games but we couldn't figure it out.

    It also does weird things like instantly spread to maximimum infestation as soon as you drop the cyst, but only graphically, so it's impossible to tell where the infestation actually is when it's spreading/receding.

    Never used minimal infestation but if it helps more people to stable frames, why not.....but idk if infestation is a cpu or a gpu thing and if "less" infestation(optical) reduces what kills most of the PCs, the high load on one core/thread....

    It didn't seem to be dynamic. Rather then growing/increasing gradually large chunks would just fade in/out.

    As people are saying, I'm pretty sure it's a modded server that you were on.
    I like to play with minimal infestation for streaming purposes, but yea. The minimal infestation looks really messed up most of the time. While I wasn't a fan of the modded version of it, it at least looks more natural.

    I think just from a competitive standpoint as well, a lot of people might end up always running the game on minimal infestation. Unfortunate, but comes with the territory of a game like this.

    This is a bug afaik. Not related to anything a mod has done or a server op set up.

    Ever since I did min. infestation I no longer get that dreaded fake wall bug. Even on windows mode it never shows up. Which is great. I know for a fact infestation has something to do with that walls bug that shows walls all over your screen. Glad they added minimal infestation in settings. I can play for hours without having to close my ns2 due to the wall bug.
