i like it how everyone seems grumpy that NS2 hasn't been released, then when there is a blog post everyone is happy.

    Disclaimer:
    Everyone doesnt refer to everyone

    nice work btw

    :)

Gorgeous stuff guys. I love how consistent your art style is. The concepts and the final results are definitely in sync.

    Very cool stuff.

I have a feeling the dev post was made into retaliation to the "Lazy Developers! Come on" topic. So now the Devs can say "We aren't lazy. Look at all the hard work we've been doing".

    Btw, it looks great.

Looks amazing :P Hope this puts those few naysayers down for a few weeks so they can get some real work done :)

Considering that these models seem rather low-poly low-res in general(but well done nonetheless), I assume the light models are going to be the main way of hiding flaws and enhancing strengths? If that's the case, and your light models perform well enough, then that's a pretty good way to get around performance issues, I would hope.

    I certainly hope it wasn't.

I see it as an update to an earlier post showing the concept art for lights for Biodome.

But it could be a bit of a "yes, we are doing stuff" kind of post too.

    Great post! I enjoyed it!
However, imo the concepts could be a lil bit more realistic ;)
    Keep it up!

These Outer Environment Models are looking awesome!
    Very nice Props!

Hoping that some of them have a nice side effect when using them. :)

Looks amazing. No complaints from me.

I remember when NS1 was released everyone was saying how you'd managed to make a HL mod that actually looked good and very professional. I'm glad the same people are working on NS2 as I'm getting that same feeling. Keep up the good work.

I like the little things =)

    2 things
    1. i like the Taser (remember to change the name) idea, especially with some of the tweaks people have suggested.
    2. how far are you compared to where you plan/want to be?

Excellent work! Love the idea of taking oil rigs as inspiration for the buildings outside. The props on the whole look solid design wise-- which will be hard to keep up since you have to make so much.

Very smexy, I especially love all the nondescript machines / computers, its those little details that really make good Sci-Fi games shine. I like the big lights too!

One oddity, that outdoor platform model looks like a cross between an aircraft carrier / traffic control tower and an oilrig, I suppose those might come in handy. Would be extra awesome if there was a dropship parked on one of the pads ;D.

Great blog post. I'm very impressed by how closely the models match the concept art.

I'm normally one to hate on crates, but those crates look awesome. The built in handles on all of the generic props, including the lights, really captures the utilitarian industrial feel. I love the feel of the art here.

Well it wouldnt be NS without crates. What else would you do to block line of sight? ;)

So sweet. I continually feel humbled by the modelers and artists out there. I've tried some modeling and I'm pretty horrible, not to mention how time consuming it can be to get every little detail you want.

    Kudos.

With real-time dynamic lighting, that would be so hot. I can see a siege map made entirely from revolving crates right now.

Not much more to say than amazing artwork.
You you guys have (in my opinion) a group of model/texture/concept artists that make all those giant big budget games look like noobs.

    Just love it ;)
